Last Wednesday the Executive Council approved $21 million in state money for the purchase of the office building that has housed the Department of Justice since last year.
The department left its pink granite location on Capitol Street and moved to a location that is less than a mile north.
The pink granite Department of Justice building is currently being torn down to make way for a legislative parking garage.
Last week a time capsule was recovered from the cornerstone of the former Department of Justice building and it revealed its banking past. The safe deposit box contained photos of bank staff, newspaper clippings and a laminated silver certificate.
